Opening hours: Monday / Friday from 08:15 to 16:15.
What you need to bring with you
- Your application form
- A valid ID
- Your health insurance card
Preparation / fasting
For some tests, it is required that you fast before blood sampling, as that will produce different results than if you ate or drank. If you need to fast, your doctor will tell you in advance. In practice, this means that you may not eat or drink anything (except a little water) from 24:00 on the night before until the time of the blood sampling. You may of course take your medication, unless otherwise agreed. You may be pleased to know that the Wetering Medical Centre opens at 08:15 in the morning. So you will not have to fast for very long.
We can provide you with containers for your urine or stool.
What does a visit to Bloedafname entail?
If possible, we will help you right away. On a busy day, you may have to take a number ticket from the dispenser and wait until your number is called. Are you next? Enter the room and hand over your ID, health insurance card, the blood sampling form and/or the container with your urine or stool sample. If your information has been verified and your forms have been processed, the assistant will give you back your ID and health insurance card. Have you collected your urine or stool sample at home? And is no blood sample required? Then you only need to hand in the materials and forms. However, we are required to verify your identity. So do not forget to bring your ID with you.
Needle anxiety for blood sampling
If you have fear of needles, dread providing your blood sample, or are afraid to faint, please tell the assistant. We may then be able to help you.
Blood sample from your child
Providing a blood sample is particularly exciting for children. Children are only pricked by specially trained and experienced staff. Therefore the Wetering Medical Centre only takes blood from children aged 12 and over. If a blood sample is required from your child, who is younger than 12, we advise you to take your child to Bloedafname at OLVG, location East.
