Frequently asked questions about gynaecological conditions
When should I see a gynaecologist?
If you have persistent or recurrent gynaecological complaints, such as menstrual problems, pain during intercourse or discomfort during pregnancy, your family doctor may refer you to a medical center. At MC Wetering, we are happy to help you further with examination or treatment when needed.
What complaints does a gynaecologist treat?
A gynaecologist treats a wide range of complaints. Think of chronic abdominal pain, menstrual problems, vaginal infections, pain during intercourse and vulva complaints. You can also see a gynaecologist for hormonal complaints, discomfort during or after pregnancy and prolapse.
Are gynaecological disorders always treated?
If there is a benign gynaecological disorder, treatment is not always necessary. It depends on the nature and severity of the symptoms, and on how much they bother you. Together with the gynaecologist, we will determine whether treatment is desirable.
