Microneedling Therapy or Collagen Induction Therapy is a skin therapy method that uses needles to make tiny holes in the skin.

Dermapen 3

Medisch Centrum Wetering works with the dermapen 3. With the dermapen 3, you can adjust the depth and speed during treatment, depending on the location and indication.The treatment stimulates the skin’s self-healing capacity and improves skin condition. In addition, the production of collagen fibres and elastin is accelerated. The effect of the treatment is not immediately visible. The skin needs time to produce collagen and elastin. This process can take up to several months and often requires several treatments. Collagen firms the skin and elastin makes the skin more supple.

Microneedling can result in:

• more smooth and fresh skin
• finer pores
• fewer wrinkles and fine lines
• improvement of the skin structure
• reduction of pigmentation spots
• filling in of (acne) scars
• flattening of surgical or traumatic scars

Treatment

After treatment, the skin will immediately look red. This effect will be visible for several days after treatment. If the skin feels a little warm and prickly after treatment, a cool pack and a caring cream can provide relief. After intensive treatment, some small inflammations, spot bleeding and/or small blue spots may occur; these are not serious and will go away by themselves.

Aftercare

The skin should be well protected from the sun for several weeks after treatment by applying sunscreen with a high SPF factor.

Additional treatment methods

In some cases, the treatment can be combined well with microdermabrasion or chemical and TCA peels.

Prices and reimbursement

You do not need a referral from a GP or medical specialist for microneedling, unless your health insurer requests it.

Reimburstments

Reimbursement depends on type of treatment and health insurance conditions. You can read in your health insurance policy, whether you are entitled to a (partial) reimbursement of the treatment(s).

Whole face and neck: 200 euros
Small area: from 75 euros
In combination with chemical peeling or microdermabrasion: + 25 euros
